Below are images from a recent shoot that I did for Tourism Northern Ireland through their advertising agency BBDO Dublin. We shot this particular setup in an unusually swift fifteen minutes, I wanted to show you that what we shot in a short space of time didn’t happen by accident and took much more time to plan than it did to shoot. The first image below shows some of my post recce “brain dump” image ideas and below that is a comp of some images shot on my phone during the recce, I’ve then added the family with my Dali’esque sketching skills to show the client how I imagined the shot in my head! We liked this hill and it’s curve, so I thought that by shooting from a low position (both kneeling and prone) we would accentuate the curve and shoot through the grass with a wide aperture to emphasise the focus on the children’s faces. This composition would also provide the agency with plenty of copy space to play with, either in the grass or in the sky. Anyway, I’ve added a whole bunch of images as they went to the client; my job was to make the photograph, thankfully somebody else had to do the edit!
My favourite…
And the rest…
